Investing in technology is crucial for continued growth, which is why we have recently acquired the best NGS analysis platform for metagenomics and also have the most advanced bioinformatics program, CLC-microbial Genomics PRO suite, in addition to all the key instruments for DNA extraction from environmental samples.
Therefore, and in order to provide quality products and services that ensure the satisfaction of all users and are based on the continuous improvement of all our processes, ATENS has developed and implemented a Quality Management System in accordance with the UNE EN ISO 9001 Standard to apply it to all its products and services.
The Management of ATENS is highly interested in environmental conservation and has become aware of the need to not only be respectful of the environment but also to safeguard it from misuse. Thus, ATENS has committed to implementing the UNE EN ISO 14001 Environmental Standard and the UNE EN ISO 50001 Energy Efficiency Standard, as described in the Integrated Management System, uniting the three aforementioned standards.

Foundation of the family-owned business
powered by the isolation of the exclusive strain of mycorrhiza Rhizoglomus irregulare BEG72, along with the renowned research center (IRTA) from Barcelona, Spain.
2001
Launch of the first Mycorrhiza-based product, Aegis
after 7 years of R&D in collaboration with IRTA, and currently the nº1 mycorrhiza of the scientific community.
2008
Adquisition by Veronica Cirino, current CEO
who set the foundations for a production and commercial system that turned the promising project into a leading worldwide company.
2008
Launch of the first Trichoderma-based product, Condor Shield
based on the exclusive strain TK7, the most powerful Plant growth promoting fungus (PGPF) on the market and the first strain of commercial Trichoderma sequenced in the world.
2014
Awarded a Highly Commended recognition by IHS Markit
for its Plant Fiber water-related technology. Also finalist at the Agrow Awards for both “Best Formulation Innovation” and “Best New Biological Product – Biostimulant”.
2016
Innovation endorsed by an international patent

Launch of the first Plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB), Bactrium
based on the exclusive strains MHBM77 and MHBM06, result of 5 years of R&D and an investment of more than 1.5 million euros, in collaboration with 15 international researchers from 5 renowned organizations.
