This trial was carried out on a 10,000 m² area in the municipality of Lorca, Murcia (Spain), where plots treated with Aegis Vine were compared to an untreated control. The product was applied on March 23, 2024, at the beginning of budbreak, and harvesting began on July 28 of the same year—less than four months after application.
During this period, key parameters such as fruit set, incidence of dry stem, yield, and metabolic changes in the plant were evaluated. The results confirm the significant benefits that Aegis Vine offers to table grape growers, demonstrating its effectiveness in a short period and under real cultivation conditions.

Improved Fruit Set, More Uniform Clusters
Thanks to the action of the MV1 mycorrhizal strain, Aegis Vine improved fruit set quality by 11%, reducing the gaps that leave the central rachis exposed. This results in more uniform clusters, with berries of more consistent size and easier to pack, saving time and enhancing the presentation of the final product.
59% Reduction in Dry Stem
Dry stem, a physiological disorder with a significant environmental component that affects cluster integrity, firmness, and fruit quality, was significantly reduced. The MV1 mycorrhizal strain helps the plant better manage thermal stress and improves the absorption of essential nutrients such as calcium and magnesium, which are key to preventing this disorder.
Increase in Number of Clusters and Yield
The plots treated with Aegis Vine showed a 16% increase in clusters per vine and a 24% higher net yield in kg/ha. These figures reflect higher productivity per hectare, which directly impacts the profitability of the crop.
Metabolic Changes that Improve Quality
Metabolomic analyses revealed that the MV1 strain induces profound changes in the plant’s physiology. Positive regulation was observed in 165 metabolites in leaves and 145 in fruits, indicating a better-nourished, less stressed, and more generative plant. This translates into higher-quality fruit, with a fuller range of flavors and improved post-harvest shelf life. This trial confirms what we already knew: Aegis Vine is an indispensable tool for table grapes, as it maximizes production and enhances fruit quality.
